Web22 mar 2024 · Prior to this study, little was known about the foraging habits of M. lucifugus during the fall swarm or spring emergence period, including whether bats would forage near hibernacula in regions with long, cold winters. Our data suggest bats respond to localized concentrations of insect prey and that reliability of the prey patch may be important.
