I have owned an old RU12 for over ten years now; the approach angle is the big attraction, as well as the ability to carry twenty times as much junk as my FJ40 could. Webi put a gixxer front end on my santee fram. I machined the stem of the jap unit to fit harley style bearings. Buy the bearings that's i.d are closest to the diameter of the stem and are same as harley cups. I actually only machined a thou or so to make it work. I beef ed up the upper tree to take the bars.I'll take some pics and put them up.
