I have already bought a 1-acre lot 40 minutes from one of the major metroplexes here in Texas and would like to build a spec home to sell and make money and just repeat the process over and over. WebIn general, it is far cheaper to buy a house that is already standing then renovate, however this is highly location dependent. For example, new construction with builder-grade materials and average labor costs is around $150 per square foot on top of the cost of land and many places things like utilities can be extremely expensive to connect to.
